Holographic mobile handsets capable of projecting, capturing and sending 3D images have been developed by an Indian tech company. By 2010 the devices will routinely beam 3D films, games and virtual goods into our laps according to Indian technology giant Infosys, which has patented the handset.
So the results are in… Firefox crushed the record.. 8 Million downloads! Holy crap Batman!
This just goes to show the power of Word-Of-Mouth martketing (WOM). don’t know exactly what WOM is? Check it out here: Word of Mouth
For the Firefox 3 worldwide launch WOM has proven extremely effective. “Grassroots marketing is also a major win, said Dotzler, because word of mouth is one of the strongest vehicles for directly promoting Firefox adoption.” read more | digg story
You can effectively you WOM to market anything… a product, a company, a presidential campaign, the list goes on and on.
CHALLENGE: Find the best niche you have in your market and tell your customers and potential customers about it.
Several months ago i ran across a couple of products: ShotCode & Semacode. Both of these small companies have created and are expanding technology knows as Universal Resource Locators (URL).
In laymans terms, its a picture that equals a website link.
Sample Semacode:

Sample ShotCode:

Here are how they are supposed to work.
1. Download the readers from the companies’ websites.
2. Once you spot a ShotCode or Semacode take a picture of it with your phone. It should then recognize the images as a URL and open the browser on your phone and take you to the website link.
Simple, eh? I’m waiting to hear back from the ladies and gents at Semacode on a few questions I have, but this isa pretty sweet product, with a million and 1 uses. Think about it… put the URL image on your Trackback posts on your blog, on forums, or better you business cards, posters at tradeshows, or even stickers and tag random places.
The possiblities are endless. There will be hopefully another post shortly when I hear back from Semacode.

I am part of the last generation of original Transformers fans. I remember growing up on all of the re-runs, and watching it when Bumblebee was actually a VW Beetle.
Well, the rumors are out… Michael Bay is beginning the production of the sequel… Transformers 2!!!
I thought the first one was definitely entertaining, and the audio and CGI was killer!
What are your thoughts?
It seems like the best lessons learned in life is learned from failures. Back when I was in college two friends and I tried starting a small IT/Marketing business focused on small and mid-sized businesses in the local area. We were thinking this was a great idea since we could be available 24/7 and bring that personal touch that some business can’t cause they are so large.
We became, VertigoTech, LLC. Cool name and I came up with a really sweet logo. We were talented, had a great idea and a sweet company image. Now we needed to figure out how we were going to fund this baby. Well this was our downfall. The other two partners decided to start another "quick" business to finance our VertigoTech. Well, we stretched ourselves too thin and they became totally involved in that other company trying to make it profitable.
It was a hard lesson to learn, but it proved even more valuable. While VertigoTech was a complete failure even before we had our first customer, the lessons learned from that are providing insight into the creation of the current company I am a partner in, TRImagination .
My focus in TRImagination is to create and maintain the first product (more information to be disclosed in a future blog post), as well as maintain the website and the marketing of the product. It’s a lot to bite off to start, but it will certainly be worth it. My business partners are Harry & Pat Sova.
Dr. Harry Sova has many years of experience setting up and running an advertising agency, one of the first digital online magazine replicated to Microsoft SQL Servers around the world. He currently is the Chair of Journalism at a large school in the Virginia Beach area. At TRImagination, he is in charge of creating and managing the content for the project.
Pat is a licensed counselor and the best business researcher a company could ever want. She is a true go getter. She has been very instrumental in the setup of the business.
If you want to know more about TRImagination feel free to email me or direct message me on Twitter .
According to Wikipedia.org, Net Neutrality is, “a principle that is applied to residential broadband networks, and potentially to all networks. A neutral broadband network is one that is free of restrictions on the kinds of equipment that may be attached, on the modes of communication allowed, which does not restrict content, sites or platforms, and where communication is not unreasonably degraded by other communication streams.” – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_neutrality
In laymans terms there is the rumored possibility that large Internet Service Providers (ISP) are planning on regulating the internet to better benefit their companies.
Here is a group from Belgium I believe that are very enthusiastic about this particular topic. Here is a video they created on posted on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2XPiqhN_Ns
I’m doing more and more research on this topic to become better informed of what is going on.

I do Twitter quite frequently: http://twitter.com/donaldleegraham or as you can see in the right side bar it is displayed there as well.
Twitter is really nothing more than a micro-blogging tool (when you post an item on there it is called a “Tweet”, which if you use frequently and share with others can be a very effective networking & marketing tool.
The purpose is to keep the blog post under 140 character so that people can convenient see what you are doing, and frankly they don’t have to sort through a lot of content that doesn’t interest them. Another thing you can do is comment on another people’s tweets.
Not only can you post Tweets via the online website, but easily from any mobile phone that has text messaging. Which I use this method most of the time for the majority of my posts.
I’ve been using my very frequently over the last 6 months or so and it has been a very great networking tool for me to connect with other programmers, design, eLearning developer, and executives of other companies.
If you take a look at my Twitter page you will see my blog post from today “New blog post: ARTICLE: The 10 Most Worthless College Majors”; yesterday I “ designing menus for the new Hilton Garden Inn”, blah, blah, blah….
WHY SHOULD YOU TWITTER? For you it can being a good networking and a fabulous little marketing tool. The biggest thing is to religiously post at least once a day about something you are doing for one of your projects.
To get started simply goto to the website and sign up for an account. If you want to use mobile text messaging thats easy to setup as well.
Give it a try and if you have any questions leave a message or hit me up on Skype in the evening. My Skype is: donaldleegraham
Cheers!

I find this rather amusing considering I just graduated with a the #6 (Bachelor’s of Science in Communications) on this list.
Thus far I have accomplished a lot without a degree. I’ve worked my way up from a Digital Media Production Assistant to Assistant Production Manager in 3.5 years, and now I’m currently an independent contractor for Tyco Electronics as their Online Training Administrator, and on the side to that I’ve start a business TRImagination with a business partner… and yes, all of that before I had my 4 year degree.
My parents’ generation seemed to focus a lot on the value of a degree, and I did get my degree or them. Honestly, I didn’t not learning that much about my trade from the classroom, it was from talking to professors while at the coffee shop or from the real-world experiences. I suppose it will pay off sooner or later, I just know that the school loans suck!
At least this article will give you a good laugh…
