It seems like the best lessons learned in life is learned from failures. Back when I was in college two friends and I tried starting a small IT/Marketing business focused on small and mid-sized businesses in the local area. We were thinking this was a great idea since we could be available 24/7 and bring that personal touch that some business can’t cause they are so large.
We became, VertigoTech, LLC. Cool name and I came up with a really sweet logo. We were talented, had a great idea and a sweet company image. Now we needed to figure out how we were going to fund this baby. Well this was our downfall. The other two partners decided to start another "quick" business to finance our VertigoTech. Well, we stretched ourselves too thin and they became totally involved in that other company trying to make it profitable.
It was a hard lesson to learn, but it proved even more valuable. While VertigoTech was a complete failure even before we had our first customer, the lessons learned from that are providing insight into the creation of the current company I am a partner in, TRImagination .
My focus in TRImagination is to create and maintain the first product (more information to be disclosed in a future blog post), as well as maintain the website and the marketing of the product. It’s a lot to bite off to start, but it will certainly be worth it. My business partners are Harry & Pat Sova.
Dr. Harry Sova has many years of experience setting up and running an advertising agency, one of the first digital online magazine replicated to Microsoft SQL Servers around the world. He currently is the Chair of Journalism at a large school in the Virginia Beach area. At TRImagination, he is in charge of creating and managing the content for the project.
Pat is a licensed counselor and the best business researcher a company could ever want. She is a true go getter. She has been very instrumental in the setup of the business.
